Miniature desktop cases come in various shapes, and the one that Thermaltake has just launched, or one of them, is pretty long for its type. It is called Urban SD1.

Where normal cases are taller than they are wide or long, the Urban SD1 is the opposite, in keeping with its compatibility with micro-ATX and mini-ITX motherboards.

First off, the newcomer has a retractable motherboard tray, for easy upgrade of the motherboard, CPU cooler, VGA and RAM.

It also has a customizable 2 + 4 modular 5.25-inch and 3.5-inch drive cage (you can easily add or remove each drive type).

Cooling is included as well, in the form of a 90 mm front Turbo Fan and two 60 mm rear fans. Even the PCI bracket is ventilated.

Add to that tool-free, anti-vibration mounts for 3.5/2.5-inch drives and there isn't much to complain about. Too bad we don't know the price.
