Thermaltake has just announced the introduction of what they claim to be “very first XB (extra big) ATX mid tower chassis,” the Chaser MK-1, a case specially designed for gamers and users who may need additional space for installing extra-tall CPU coolers.

This means that the Chaser MK-1 can house coolers up to 18cm height and uses some very distinctive design features, such as a pulsating logo, all black inside and outside coating and a series of high-contrast blue LED lights.

Users who prefer to water cool their systems will be glad to hear that the case has been specially built in order to allow for the installation of 120mm or even 240mm radiators by just removing the chassis' top fan.

Furthermore, the case is equipped with a pair of hose holes that make it compatible with a wide series of external water cooling solutions.

Additional cooling is provided by a pair of 200mm fans and one 140mm TurboFan, and each of the two 200mm fans can be controlled via a so-called ColorShift button that allows users to switch the color of the LEDs built into the fans.

This is placed on the top of the case together with two SuperSpeed USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports, an eSATA port, HD audio connectors for headset and microphone as well as with an HDD hot-swap docking station.

This can take either 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SATA drives, so disks can be exchanged on-the-fly without requiring users to remove the side panel.

Each fan intake comes equipped with removable dust filters and the Chaser MK-1’s feet can be elevated a few centimeters from the ground to allow for better ventilation.

Although the chassis was present at the CeBIT 2011 fair, Thermaltake didn't provide any information regarding pricing and availability.
