It is especially designed for water cooling systems

It's one thing to look for a mid-tower PC case and another to search for one that can accommodate even your maddest liquid cooling schemes. The new Thermaltake Core V41 Window is one such chassis.

Designed for gamers who want to go that extra mile when it comes to keeping their computers cool, the newcomer has something that most cases do not: a perforated top panel.

That means that all the heat will leave your system almost as soon as it's generated. Although some people might not appreciate the top being the exhaust side. The intake is located at the bottom according to the press release.

Considering that there is no vent on the side panel (Thermaltake chose to go with a window this time), the mesh top might be just what the doctor ordered. Besides, the front of the chassis may be made of mesh too, but that one is used for intake as well.

The specs of the Core V41 Window mid-tower case

Being a mid-tower, it can accommodate motherboards of mini-ITX, micro-ATX and full-ATX form factors, but nothing larger.

Not that most gamers ever need an E-ATX or XL-ATX mainboard. Those are made for overclocking test benches (as in case-less hardcore sessions) or for workstations.

Anyway, there are several 5.25-inch and 3.5-inch tool-free drive bays inside, so that you don't suffer from too much hassle when installing HDDs, SSDs or ODDs.

You can have up to eight drives installed at once, and the modular drive racks make it easy to only populate the trays you want. Good for airflow if they're not all stuffed full.

You can even swap 3.5-inch cages for 5.35-inch bays, and remove them altogether in order to get more room for high-end air or liquid coolers.

If you don't want to bother with that from the start, however, you still have a 120 mm intake fan on the front (behind a dust filter), as well as a 120 mm fan at the back. If you install fans in a balanced fashion, you might even get the airflow to pull air inside through the top instead of using it as exhaust zone.

Availability and pricing

Unfortunately, Thermaltake didn't say when exactly shipments of the Core V41 Window will begin, or for what price. We're willing to bet that the tag will be in the vicinity of the new Z11 Neo from Zalman, not that the selling/price details of that one are any better known.
