Company working on special mounting brackets

For consumers, the news that NVIDIA finally made the official introduction of its GeForce GTX 470 and GTX 480 adapters is likely a breath of fresh, although probably hot, air, considering the long time it took the company to get ready. For the web, on the other hand, the launch means that, for about another week or so, most new products, from whichever company, will have something to do with the cards. This definitely seems to be the case with Thermalright's coolers, which will soon be getting support for the GF100 GPU-enabled devices.

As most consumers likely know by now, the Santa Clara GPU maker's new graphics adapters, in addition to being rather power hungry, have similarly high operating temperatures, even despite the elaborate cooling modules they use. In seeking to prove that it can provide a better solution, Taiwan-based company Thermalright has come forth and announced that it will soon add GTX 400 support to three of its top-tier coolers, namely the HR-03 GT, the HR-03 GTX and the Spitfire, the last of which was released in early December, 2009. The company is already working on new mounting Brackets to go with the adapters' PCBs.

“We have measured the required mounting specs , for it to have the best compatibility with our VGA cooler, as we will be releasing the latest (GTX-470/480) VGA BTK / VRM solution with fastest pace, but as on how much overclocking over the GF100 chip to the highest performance?, we leave it in the hands of extreme gamers,” the press release states.

The Taiwanese company did not mention the exact date when the Fermi-compatible metal monsters will become available, saying only that they would be out soon. This may imply that Thermalright intends to make its product available just before or around the same time that the cards themselves are scheduled to start selling. This means that end-users may see the new coolers within the next week or two.
