Thermalright announced the launch of a new chipset passive cooling solution, the HR-05/IFX cooler that is a kind of going back to basics solution, as the manufacturing company never really approved the current industry trend of using complex heatpipe systems for the entire motherboard. Unlike most currently used passive cooling solutions found on the market today, the Thermalright HR-05/IFX cooler is a stand-alone piece of equipment, as it does not integrate into a larger cooling
solution.

The Thermalright HR-05/IFX is designed to cool the chipset of an Intel compatible motherboard and it does its job quietly and very well. The cooler is compatible with all mainboards designed with the LGA 775 processor socket in mind and it is certified to efficiently cool any of the following chipsets from ATI (Radeon Express 200), Intel ( P35,975X,965P,955X, 945G, 945P, 945PL, 925X, 925XE, 915G, 915P, 865PE, 848P), nVnForce4 ( SLI,680i,590idia), SiS (SiS 656, SiS 661FX/964) and VIA P4M800 and PT880 Ultra chipsets. Its wide compatibility with all the compatible LGA 775 chipsets ensures that the Thermalright HR-05/IFX is going to do a great job no matter the specific mainboard it is installed on.

The new Thermalright passive cooler solution comes based on the patented Wild Fire design which ensures an increased surface area for optimal heat dissipation and this design is compatible with almost any 80mm fan. HR-05/IFX is combining a new and improved retention mechanism for a more sturdy and firm mount, while allowing for a greater motherboard compatibility. Because of its light design and low weight, the new cooler does not stress the mainboard like most heavy, mono block heatpipe passive cooling solutions do. In order to provide an increased air circulation, the HR-05/IFX also comes with drilled holes through its fins, which are in turn soldered on a copper base that is nickel-plated.

The Thermalright HR-05/IFX is a cooling solution designed for both the Northbridge and Southbridge and for users that truly wish to achieve the ultimate cooling experience needed for extreme overclocking, Thermalright designed its newest cooler to be compatible with any 80mm fan that can improve the total airflow and increase this way the cooling abilities of the HR-05/IFX system.
