Theresia is a game developed by Japanese studio WorkJam and published by Aksys Games only for the Nintendo DS portable on September 11, 2008, in Japan, and on October 30, that same year, in North America, being one of the few DS games that received the Mature rating from the ESRB, largely because of its graphic content.
Theresia can be classified as an adventure survival horror game, in the vein of traditional Japanese visual novels, released by Aksys as part of its mobile phone game series, and has a first-person perspective that depicts two different stories, each sharing a common background.
One is called Dear Emile, which sees players control a character called Emile and must battle with his own demons, fears or overcome various traps, while the other is named Dear Martel, and features a smaller story, designed to complete the events portrayed in the first one.
