It was easy enough to guess that a single mishap would nip the 3D gun printing industry in the bud. Remaining skepticism has been lain to rest now though.

Defense Distributed is a 3D firearms printing group that has announced a new website.

Said website exists to host gun files. Previously, the files were uploaded to MakerBot's Thingiverse, but MakerBot has since banned weapons.

The new website, Defcad.org, is young and has a very short catalog (only three parts are actually on it right now).

Obviously, there is no way guns will actually be printable in the near future. Some parts could be though.

Now we just have to wait and see if Defense Distributed doesn't get shut down by legal authorities or get its equipment repossessed. It happened before, though to a different party.
