Start Menu dev says that Microsoft might actually bring back this feature at some point

The Start Menu seems to be only history at this point, especially because Microsoft is focusing so much on making the Start screen better, but some people think that Redmond could have a change of heart at some point.

Let’s take Yue Jun, the team leader of developers of Start Menu 8 from IObit Technology, for example. Jun told us in an interview this week that while the Start screen might be useful on a number of devices, a Start Menu would make the whole experience a lot better, so hope that a such a feature would return still exists.

“In my own opinion, it’s still not convenient for our daily life and work without start menu. I still hope there would be a start menu which will help me much,” Jun said when asked to comment on the new Windows 8.1 Start button.

Users will most likely agree. The Start screen is indeed a helpful tool on touch-capable devices, such as tablets, but a Start Menu is clearly the feature that could make the operating system much more appealing. Microsoft should really start listening to this feedback.
