If someone were to ask you to name the biggest internet markets in the world, China may spring to mind, but India probably doesn't. This despite the fact that it now has over 100 million internet users, making it the third largest market globally.
The two biggest, by a large margin, are China with 485 million users and the US with some 245 million. Japan, with little over 99 million was just overtaken by India,
according to the latest numbers from the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI).
India crossed the milestone in September. However, there may be more users than the numbers would suggest, as there are now about 112 million 'claimed' internet users, i.e. users who may only access the web for a specific function, but only that.
