While still shooting for 'The Other Boleyn Girl', Scarlett Johansson already signed in to do another historical drama, 'Mary Queen of Scots'. In her brand new trip to the past, the sexy actress will play the part of Queen Mary of Scotland but she will not get to be the only one in the spotlight.
The movie, based on script written by Jimmy McGovern ('Cracker'), will focus mostly on the antagonistic relationship between Mary of Scotland and Queen Elizabeth I of England, known for trying repeatedly to undermine her rule.
'The Hollywood Reporter' informs that the project will be produced by 2929 Entertainment and by Scarlett's mother and manager, Melanie Johansson. The two have worked together before, on 'A Love Song for Bobby Long', in which Scarlett had a minor role. The estimated budget of the historical movie is said not to be in the $25 million-$30 million range.
Currently, the search for a director is underway but the shooting has already been scheduled to take place by the end of the summer of 2007. Until now, no other actors were tipped for the rest of the cast and the producers are keeping their mouths closely shut about their choice of a director.
