Lead template reseller rolls out Magento web themes

The recent week has seen some movements in the website templates marketplace after ThemeForest premiered a Magento templates category on their website, while FlashMint and FlashMoto announced a collaboration which will allow customers to purchase Flash web themes for the FlashMoto CMS from the FlashMint template shop.

The Envato-owned ThemeForest website is a place where common web-designers and developers can put their own website templates up for sale, in categories ranging from PSD files to WordPress themes, and from simple HTML & CSS templates to Joomla skins.

In an e-mail received this week from Fuad Ta'eed, Envato representative in charge of Business Development, they were announcing the launch of a new product category. Well, we waited a couple of days to see how the community reacted and see what kind of templates we would be receiving.

While the majority of the community pouted because much of the presentation space on ThemeForest's front page was cluttered with Magento themes (even if a warning was issued in due time to push back releases if the designers desired more prime time on the front page), the templates look outstanding.

The templates have prices a little bit higher than ThemeForest has accustomed users with, and are imported from lead Magento theme marketplace, Magentist. Because there are so many templates on Magentist, ThemeForest management will be premiering them in batches every day for the coming weeks.

As we wrote last week in an article about Template Monster, it has happened: “the king has fallen, hail the new king!” ThemeForest has surpassed Template Monster in Alexa's traffic ranking and seems to leave the guys at TM in the dust as they are still rising in the charts.

Meanwhile, up-and-coming Flash CMS developer FlashMoto has announced a new business liaison, put in place to help users acquire Flash website templates manageable under their high-profile Flash CMS platform.

On April 15, 2010, FlashMint started selling FlashMoto CMS themes on their website, and “will start developing its own [F]lash CMS templates based on [the] FlashMoto Content Management System backend,” according to an entry on FlashMint's blog.
