Thecus has a whole bunch of high-end NAS devices up for sale, but the one it has just launched isn't like that. It's closer to a common denominator actually.

Called N2310, it has two drive bays, one LAN port, two USB 3.0 ports and support for RAID (0, 1, and JBOD).

For those unaware, RAID basically makes two or more storage drives appear as a single partition in Windows, or other supporting operating systems.

A built-in FTP server is available too (for easy sharing and distribution of files).

Then, there's the Plex Media Server, which allows for 100 MB/s read and 80 MB/s BitTorrent and T-OnTheGo transmissions.

All on a power consumption of 5W and a price of $169.99 / €169.99.

The Thecus N2310 NAS has up to 8 TB capacities (with 4TB HDDs), plus whatever is on the USB-connected flash/hard/solid-state drives, or CD, DVD and Blu-ray, if available.
