Chinese manufacturer HTW presents Sirocco look-a-like

An interesting combination between Nokia's 8800 and Apple's iPod? As you might have guessed, this mobile phone, going under the name of F88, is the work of a Chinese manufacturer, HTW (that has no connection with Taiwanese smartphone producer HTC).

The F88 sports an iPod-like 4 way key for navigation purposes as well as 8800 metallic and sleek form factor. The keypad also seems to be 'borrowed' from Motorola's RAZR which makes you assume that HTW has gathered everything that they considered best in the design of popular mobile phones and Mp3 players, blended it together and released this mobile phone in the hope that it will appeal to a wider range of customers. The cell phone measures 108 x 47 x 16.8 mm and weighs 140 grams, not exactly the same as Nokia 8800's measurements but pretty close.

The features of this tri-band mobile phone include a 260k color QVGA display, Bluetooth, a 1.3 megapixel camera with video capabilities, media player and a MicroSD card slot for memory expansion allowing the user to store more varied content when the 128MB of internal memory the phone comes with is not enough.

HTW has presented their new phone in Asia, therefore it will most likely be available only in Asian countries. The F88 might prove to be a good choice for people who have always dreamed of having a mobile phone that resembles both Nokia 8800 and RAZR and aren't very pretentious when it comes to features.

HTW will reportedly offer this mobile phone for an approximate price of 500 euros and F88 is expected to hit the stores in the first months of 2007.
