Sound Spa: another iPod docking station, this time on a clock

Yet another iPod-related gear hits the saturated market. As a matter of fact, it is rather iPod-dedicated than iPod-related. Next in line after the iPods themselves come the docking stations which also sell like crazy around the world.

Why? I don't exactly know but one hell of a reason cold be that most of them also recharge the portable device and thus are way cooler than an ordinary charging piece.

Other reasons may be related to the fact that these docking stations come in loaded with a handful of other features such as music player, alarm clock, wireless streaming capabilities and so on. Even more, some of them are really classy and stylish, even part of the audiophile hi-end range and selling for big bucks.

HoMedics have recently let out an iPod device made especially for the Apple player and it consists of an alarm clock with docking features. The design is pretty cool (I just have to admit it, despite the fact that I am not an iPod fan) and this alarm clock is pretty useful around the house.

It technically will allow you to wake up to the buzzer or to your iPod sounds. And if these sounds seem not enough, the iSoundSpa (some name, really) has its own set of nature sounds (ocean, rain, night, waterfall, brook, and sunrise) so your mornings can really change.

The funny thing is that many of those that I have asked about how does the night sound could not give me an answer; and me, I think I'd rather go to a deeper sleep if ocean waves sounded in my ears...

The iSoundSpa can even project a large image on the ceiling, so you can actually read the clock in a more unconventional way if reading the large LCD screen seems too common for you.

The dual alarm features a snooze function people like me will surely appreciate and use thoroughly, especially as the nap time ranges from 15 to 60 minutes.

Finally, I must add that the iSoundSpa from HoMedics will also work as an AM/Fm radio and will receive audio signal via a 3.5mm jack from any external source such as CD player, iPod Shuffle or any other MP3 players. Get it now for a very attractive price - one cent short of $80.
