If you're an Apple fan, you've probably seen those videos about the Apple iPhone 6 being bent to the point where it can never be unbent again (presumably). If you're one of the people who sat on their phones enough to warp them that badly, the iPhone 6 BendGate case may be just the thing for you!

Apple's iPhones have been subjected to their fair share of controversy in the past. One notable issue was when the iPhone 4 had a weird design flaw that made it lose signal unless you held it “just so.”

The iPhone 6 is now going through its obligatory phase, or at least a period during which Apple's rivals (et. al.) are poking fun at its assumed problems. Or one problem.

Apparently, the iPhone 6 can bend. But instead of it being a planned feature (which would come with the requisite elasticity that would allow it to retake its original shape), it's a defect. It leaves the phone warped for good, unless you forcefully unbend it (until it happens again anyway).

In truth, only nine people actually sent complaints to Apple about their phone bending from sitting on it too much. Normally, the mobile device doesn't have shape retention problems (it can take 90 pounds / 40 kg of force).

A lot of dust has been kicked off by this runaway car anyway during the past few days, so a designer on Shapeways decided to poke a little fun at it.

Behold, the iPhone 6 BendGate Case

Made by Shapeways and valued at $19.99 / €15.77, the case is curved to the same extent that the iPhone 6 is likely to have bent for you.

It is available in 12 different colors and it will allow you to redress your phone in an outer frame that will at least look intact. We recommend the white and metallic silver plastic options, for greatest fidelity to the original design

Of course, if you're actually among the few people who got their iPhones bent through whatever means, the outer enclosure is probably the least of your problems. Nevertheless, make your way to the store pronto.

You're not supposed to buy the iPhone 6 BendGate for yourself anyway. It's supposed to be bought for you by your friends, assuming they possess the necessary brilliance to consider this mostly benign form of ribbing. Whether or not the ribbing is worth twenty bucks is up to them.

What you should do if you own your own 3D printer

Make a case for yourself, since the stock ones might not fit the newly acquired curvature of your phone (if it's really a curvature and not a tear-summoning sharp angle).
