The iPhone 5 Is Light as a Feather

If you’re planning to upgrade to the iPhone 5 in the coming days, prepare to be amazed. This thing is so light, you’ll start to wonder whether they messed up your order and sent you a display unit instead.

When you first pick up the iPhone 5 out of its box, the first thing that strikes you is not the design, but the incredibly lightweight chassis that could easily be mistaken for plastics. In fact, the iPhone 5 is so light it may actually lose a few points with avid fans of Apple's.

Coming from the all-glass iPhone 4 / 4S, you’ll feel as if you’re holding a toy in your hand, not a sturdy aluminum shell packed to the brim with technology. While the phone does prove itself once you switch it on, every time I pick it up I feel like I’m going to break it. It’s not a particularly pleasant feeling, I must say.

And the people I've asked to give me an opinion all say the same – it doesn't feel like Apple made it.

Then again, we're all biased coming from the hefty iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, aren't we?
