Apple loves to pride itself on original designs, and the iPhone 5 will be another testament of that. The next-generation smartphone from Apple will arrive with some radically redesigned headphones that could easily pass as alienware.

Designed in Cupertino, California and reportedly assembled in Vietnam, the headphones seem to be mold-crafted, leaving no seams or detachable parts at the end of the manufacturing process.

Pictured above are “the new earphones for the iPhone 5 that is about to come out,” reports sonlazio, a poster over at tinhte.vn, a Vietnamese source that has accurately dished out photos and rumors in the past.

A rough translation of his post reads, “These will replace the current earphones that are on the market. These are manufactured at Phax Co factory in Vietnam. They have the appearance of a horse's head, not like earbuds.”

According to sonlazio, who claims to have had a hands-on with the hardware, the buds have a much smaller profile when worn.

The tester remarks that the headphones “have the appearance of a fully integrated, single unit - there's no part that looks like it would come apart - not like earbuds,” he notes.

Indeed, the current-generation Apple headphones are made up of multiple separate parts, at least five of which make up the housing of the miniaturized speakers.

The source adds that “when they are worn, they do not hurt the way earbuds do.”

Not that the old ones hurt that bad (unless you wear them all day long), but who will say no to a more comfortable listening experience.

Lastly, the source says the wires have Apple’s design / manufacturing information written on them: “Designed by Apple in California, assembled in Vietnam.”

You can watch a video of the hands-on with Apple’s iPhone 5 headphones below. The video has no sound, but it’s hardly a drawback since the entire footage focuses on the design of the futuristic iPhone 5 earbuds.
