Music under your hat

Now, winter's closing in rather fast and spending time outdoors may bring a little too much chill on your ears – maybe it's time to go for a hat or some kind of cap; but if you still want to listen to your fav tracks as you stroll across the city, you might discover that your hat and your headphones aren't such a good mix, after all. And since giving up on one of them is one thing you're not quite willing to do, why not go for both, but in a different combination: the Sound Hat from iLogic.

This is one nifty piece of gadgetry that brings together music listening, the warmth offered by a common hat and, of course, that fashion thing you can't afford to neglect.

While looking like any other beanie, the iLogic Sound Hat is actually made of what most similar things are: polyester and a soft, fleecy texture that is equally comfortable and warm. And its black color will go with anything.

Now, under the hood comes the technology: this nifty hat boasts a stereo built-in speaker array, pretty much like a pair of headphones but without the headband. These speakers are positioned so as to go over your ears, without having to push that hat over your head until you can't see a thing, and they can easily be connected to any digital music source via the 3.5mm stereo jack. Just put the (magic) hat on and hook it up to your PMP (iPods included), hit "play" and there you go: music and warmth in one comfortable single gadget, no batteries and nothing else required.

Still there’s no word on the quality of the headphones, since the iLogic Sound Hat is in the pre-order phase. Nevertheless, if the earpieces are cool, the under $28 price can prove to be more than attractive, especially as the holidays are drawing near and your gift ideas haven't been too bright so far.  After all, it seems like the Sound Hat isn't an illogic gadget.
