This might not have been the best idea after all

At the iPhone 6 launch event, Apple invited U2 on the stage. After the first song, U2 lead singer Bono and Apple CEO Tim Cook had an awkward chat in front of thousands of spectators and millions of others in the world.

Bono wished for a button that he could press and push his band's new album, "Songs of Innocence," to all iTunes users, for free. Tim Cook had no other choice but to accept that. Lo and behold, a few hours later, everyone had a new purchase – the new U2 album.

Shortly after that moment, Twitter started to get flooded with funny messages. Some people were wondering who U2 was and how they got to their iPhones. Others were making fun of the first category. There's even a Tumblr page that pokes the aforementioned group and collects the tweets of people who have never heard of them.

On the other hand, Apple says the U2 album got over 2 million downloads in just a few days and the band's other albums soared back into the charts. iTunes has discounted some of them and created a new selection to help fans buy their favorites.

We've browsed Twitter for some of the funnier messages about this whole thing. Take a look at the gallery and choose your favorite pun.
