Getting into someone else's account, stealing private pictures and posting them online is not a joke. It is a terrible thing and the hackers and leakers have to face justice for that. However, after Apple has explained how it all happened, the so-called Celebgate turned into a joke.

Some people on Twitter started to mock Apple for iCloud, others were mocking the celebrities for having weak passwords and falling for a phishing attack.
There are a few rules of common sense when it comes to using online services for private stuff and we cannot stress this enough: make sure you do not post or upload any nude pictures or stuff that may turn against you.

If you really want to do that, choose a strong password and activate iCloud's two-step verification. On the other hand, if you really want to use your phone to take pictures, turn off the Photo Stream feature and download your pictures using WiFi or a cable to your computer.

Apple's CEO, Tim Cook made some comments after the whole iCloud fiasco. He explained their servers and the iCloud service was not breached. The hackers targeted certain celebrities accounts and then used social engineering to answer the security questions. Some celebrities have also received phishing emails that were directing them towards resetting their iCloud passwords on made-up websites.

Now that you know how to protect yourself from these types of attacks, go ahead and take a look at our selection of "iCloud jokes posted on Twitter" in the gallery below.
