Thalia, Lindsay Lohan, Christina Millan, Amerie, Sheryl Crow and other music stars took the New York Fashion Week catwalk on
Friday to present the red dresses created by top designers as part of the annual Red Dress Collection, staged by The National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute to raise awareness about women and heart disease.
Sheryl Crow wearing a scarf-style halter dress by Ralph Lauren and Christina Milian - a flowing gown with jeweled straps by Max Azria Atelier were considered the best dressed stars. Lohan wore a long-sleeve Calvin Klein gown with a V-front. The troubled long dark-haired singer flashed the peace sign at the photographers when reaching the end of the stage.
Latin beauty Thalia walked for the audience while playing with her skirt as part of a Vera Wang outfit: red satin coat with a darker dress underneath and chocolate-skinned Amerie bounced her Tommy Hilfiger short dress in the applause of the appreciative public.
But the highlight of the evening was country singer Lee Ann Womack, who wore a strapless gown with gathering and satin strips on the bodice by Carmen Marc Valvo designed especially for her: "Like designing for any celebrity, I had to ask myself, `Who is she? What's her persona? What will work for her?' I knew it was going to be fabulous," Womack said. "It's definitely something I would wear."
