CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” has been losing lots of fans after Michael Muhney’s final episode as Adam Newman, which aired in January, and many continue to pledge they will stop watching unless producers bring back the actor in the same role.

Despite all this and regardless of the ongoing controversy, which includes online petitions and all types of campaigns, the soap opera remains one of the biggest events in scripted television, and the fact that it scooped up several awards at last night’s Daytime Emmy Awards is further confirmation of that.

That is to say, if confirmation was still necessary. For any TV project to stand the test of time like “Y&R” has done is proof enough that it can weather any storm, especially in an age in which many shows are canceled after a first season.

Below is the complete list of winners at the latest edition of the Daytime Emmy Awards which, Entertainment Tonight reports, was packed with awesome acceptance speeches. “Y&R” totally cleaned up the awards, winning for both acting and writing accomplishments.

The Jeanne Cooper “Young and the Restless” special also picked up an award, as also did Hunter King, the young actress whose name was linked to that of Michael Muhney in CBS’ decision to let the latter go.

Muhney’s mother recently said that there was no truth to reports that he’d been fired because he’d harassed, bullied and groped her on the set of the soap opera but, even so, fans might not agree that she deserved to win Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series.

Other winners included The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Dr. Oz, Katie Couric’s Katie, and Good Morning America.

However, to see the complete list of winners at the Oscars correspondent in daytime television, check out the list:
