A little humor never hurt anybody, especially since the large companies are swimming in a sea of dullness when it comes to announcing the unavailability of a service or the release of a new product.

In these circumstances, the joke played by YouTube's engineers, who have added new features to its popular video service, is more than welcome.

For a few hours, while the site was updated, instead of displaying boring messages, YouTube showed its users different humorous messages and photographs.

The first of them, and probably the funniest, was a famous phrase from the Japanese video game Zero Wing, "All your video are belong to us". Grammatically incorrect, the phrase sparked an Internet phenomenon in 2001 and 2002.

As expected, upon seeing the message, many users thought that YouTube was under siege by hackers.

As results, the engineers implementing the new features posted the next message "No, we haven't be hacked. Get a sense of humor."

YouTube's new features include creating and customization of channels and posting them on blogs.

The changes introduced by the largest site in the field come after both Yahoo and Google upgraded their video services to attract more users and to put a dent into YouTube's supremacy.
