If you're the kind of party people with a nudge onto tech stuff then it's quite possible that the name Xone is not a strange thing for you. Xone is the line of pro DJ gear issued by one of UK's finest manufacturers, Allen & Heath which is slowly growing "in the charts" of tertiary-gear manufacturers' and DJs' preferences.

Now, after so many consoles and DJ mixers and controllers and other stuff like that, one thing was direly missing: what about the Xone DJ Headphones? I mean, you decide to build a new disco place and gear up, all around your DJ's is Xone-badged except for the headphones. What would people say... that despite A&H make such great mixers and DJ panels and so on, they can't f***ing make some decent headphones?...

Well, no more of this as the Xone XD-53's are here! 53Mm diameter drives will pump beats in the DJs' ears amid circumaural pads sworn to provide the DJ with enough insulation powerful enough to compensate for the loudest clubs.

And because nobody wanted these new headphones to look like some cheap entry-level ear cans, Allen & Heath put some extra work in the design and made the overall design foldable for easy carrying. Even more, the rotating ear pieces allow for a very comfortable and easy one-ear monitoring. The full specs aren't known yet but reportedly the XD-53's are coming with a lot of SPL.

The Xone design-team head commented upon the XD-53:"The Xone range of DJ mixers has a staunchly loyal following and many customers were asking if we could design headphones to complement their audiophile set up.[...] We've brought the same design ethos to the XD-53 headphones as we use for our mixers - they sound fantastic with tons of power, and a sturdy construction." Available from May 2007, the Xone XD-53 DJ headphones still have no announced price but we'll let you know in time.
