In case you're a console modder and you just can't keep your hands off your beloved gadgets even if you're in jail, we've got some bad news for you. It turns out that the famous next-gen consoles, Xbox 360, PS3 and the best-selling portable Nintendo gaming device, the DS will be banned from jails. The decision comes after the discovery of the fact that these consoles can enable various people to send and receive radio signals.

By doing so, the inmates will be able to plan riots, escapes or even terrorist attacks. The security experts have also mentioned that the good old PS2 can be tweaked to allow chats between inmates, just like the next-gen devices. The problem is that such a threat was present months before the consoles were banned, so it may be possible that some riots were already planned.

As all the gaming systems are ready to take digital entertainment to the next level, they'll include the latest technologies and put in jeopardy the security of prisons, so they'll all be banned sooner or later. I guess that the inmates will have to do with the average GameBoy or the first PlayStation console. So, if you're in jail and you want to play FIFA 08, wait till the time of your release, or check out the PS2 version in case the console doesn't get banned as well.

Such important decisions regarding a prison's security make you wonder about the consoles' status during major wars. Are soldiers allowed to use gaming devices? Can an enemy base be exposed by the heat signature of those consoles? We've heard about PS3 chips being used to produce rockets, but the harmful potential of these consoles seems to increase as they evolve. Will the PS4 and Xbox 4 trigger the Apocalypse?
