Groupon has released version 1.5 of its free shopping app Groupon HD for iPad with a simplified user experience that encourages the discovery of Groupon’s local merchants, Goods deals and Getaway destinations. The first major update since the app’s debut in April 2011, Groupon HD for iPad 1.5 lets you “pretend you’re a fancy art critic” thanks to a new gallery view for deals. A new “Nearby” tab lets you find out what’s close to you.
The new version brings improved Facebook iOS 6 integration for deal sharing, as well as support for promotional and gift codes. Groupon is also now supported in more countries, including Singapore, Sweden, the Netherlands, Australia, Hong Kong, Brazil, “and most basements.”
Groupon HD is compatible solely with the iPad and requires iOS 4.3 or later.
