Believe it or not, but even though there are so many modern browsers out there, some users are still choosing Internet Explorer 6 to browse the web these days.

That’s what statistics provided by market researcher Net Applications reveal, as Internet Explorer 6 is currently being used by no less than 4.54 percent of consumers worldwide.

These shocking figures have been reached following a slight market share boost from 4.43 percent in December 2013 and are somewhat understandable given the fact that Windows XP, the first Windows version that came with this browser version, is still very popular these days.

Microsoft continues the struggle to move users to a newer version of Internet Explorer 6 and this time you should really listen to Redmond’s advice, as there are plenty of much faster and more secure browsers out there than the good old IE6.
