The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, has just received a brand new series of details, including the fact that its story lasts around 50 hours and that Geralt will be able to use upgraded spells and even target body parts during combat.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was made official last month, with developer CD Projekt Red confirming that it's going to release the final chapter in its sprawling RPG trilogy, ending the story of protagonist Geralt of Rivia.

After hearing quite a few details and a confirmation that the game will appear in 2014 for the PC as well as the PlayStation 4 and other high-end platforms, more new info has appeared thanks to a few previews, via OXM.

First and foremost, the story of the title will be quite lengthy and should take around 50 hours to complete, leaving the game's world in one of 36 different states. Depending on the decisions, players will then be able to experience one of three different hour-long epilogues at the end.

Save game files from The Witcher 2 can be imported in the game, which takes into account what characters were saved by Geralt and what didn't up living past the second title. As of yet, however, it's unclear The Witcher 2 ending will be taken into account by Wild Hunt.

Geralt's spells have received some upgrades, as Axii, which usually confused enemies, can now be used to tame wild horses. Ignii has also been improved, as Geralt can now shoot a constant stream of fire instead of just flame balls.

Combat has been improved, as Geralt can now jump and even target actual limbs through a new system that's quite similar to Fallout 3's VATS mechanic.

Players can also hunt wild animals for fur and other resources, although not for XP, as Geralt can only earn experience through regular combat and the level cap will be at 60.

Cities are much more populated and, depending on Geralt's behavior, some inhabitants will even report him to the local guards. Locations mentioned by the previews include Novigrad, the Skellige Islands, which can be explored by boat, and different wilderness areas.

No other details are known, but you can expect to hear more as we get closer to The Witcher 3's release next year.
