The Witcher Hints and Glitches (PC)

The Witcher (from Polish: WiedŸmin) is a computer role-playing game for PC developed by CD Projekt RED STUDIO and published by CD Projekt in Poland and Atari for the rest of the world. Based on the book series of the same name by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, the game uses BioWare's proprietary Aurora Engine. It was released in Europe on October 26, 2007 and in the US on October 30, 2007.

The Witcher follows the story of Geralt, one of a few remaining "witchers" - travelling monster hunters for hire, gifted with unnatural powers. Taking place in a medieval fantasy world, the game implements detailed visuals. The natural light during various phases of the day is realistically altered, and the day and night transitions serve to enrich the game's ambience. The weather can dynamically change from a light drizzle to a dark, stormy downpour accompanied by thunder and lightning.

GAMEPLAY HINTS

Faster dice
Hold the Right Mouse Button while playing dice. The game will be slightly faster and easier to play when you do not have to wait for the dice animation.

Defeating Beast
Please note: This can be done as of patch v1.2. There is a small crevice between the fence and a small hut to the top left corner of the field. Use this to regenerate health or use potions. Neither the dogs nor Beast will be able to get to you as long as you stay in this opening. Do not worry about the villagers or Abigail, as the dogs will not attack them. If you have upgraded Ard Sign for STUN, it makes the fight a lot easier. Aim for Beast and cast your Sign. If he is stunned, simply do an auto-attack and you will trigger a one-hit kill.

GLITCHES

Unlimited talent distribution
Please note: This can only be done in unpatched versions of the game. After you get new talents, meditate to distribute them. After you come out of meditation, go to the Hero panel and right-click on the enhancements you just used the talents on. You will hear the money sound, but no visible change. You can meditate again and have those talents back, and will still have the enhancements you had previously used the talents on.
