The good folks over at CD PROJEKT RED, creators of the amazingly popular Witcher franchise have just announced that their Battle Arena game for mobile devices has just entered closed beta.

Developed by Fuero Games, The Witcher Battle Arena is now available for a limited number of Android users. Well, at least that’s what should happen soon after enough people register for The Witcher Battle Arena closed beta.

Some of you may wonder why developers have chosen the Android platform for this bait program, but the answer is rather obvious. The number of people who use Android OS combined with the huge array of different devices powered by this platform have made Fuero Games opt for Google’s operating system.

Given the fact that developers want to make the game compatible with a wide range of hardware, it makes sense to test The Witcher Battle Arena on a lot of different devices, and Android is the only one that can provide that for the moment.

Anyway, for those who don’t know what’s with this mobile game, then you should know that The Witcher Battle Arena, as the name suggests, is a MOBA game based in the Witcher universe.

The folks at Fuero Games claim that they aim to design a game that, for once, does not feature pay-to-win elements, so players could unlock every piece of in-game content via gameplay.

In the closed beta, Android gamers will be able to test the core mechanics of Battle Arena, which in return will greatly help developers balance gameplay, fix potential issues, and further polish in-game features.

Selected participants will be given the choice of play-testing 8 heroes on two maps available in Conquest Mode, The Arena and Korath Desert. However, players will also have the possibility of createing their profiles in an RPG style.

“We are extremely passionate about games, whether they be for PC, console or mobile devices. The Witcher Battle Arena is our take on the MOBA genre and we are really excited at the prospect of sharing it with the gaming community! We highly value fans of The Witcher, and their opinions have always been paramount in helping us develop a great gaming experience.

The Witcher Battle Arena is no exception! Sign up for the soon-to-commence closed beta now and, once you’ve had a chance to play around with it, share your thoughts - we’re really eager to hear what you have to say!” said Benjamin Lee, producer for Mobile Games, CD PROJEKT RED.

According to developers, the final version of The Witcher Battle Arena game is expected to be released on the market sometime in 2014 and will be available on Android, iOS and Windows Phone platforms.

Android users may sign-up for the closed beta on The Witcher Battle Arena website.
