Developer and publisher CD Projekt RED has announced that their upcoming role-playing game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be distributed in Australia and New Zealand by Namco Bandai.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the third installment in the action role-playing game series based on the fantasy novels of the same title by acclaimed Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, and is planned to conclude the story of Geralt of Rivia, the series' protagonist.

It will feature a vast open world that developer CD Projekt RED boasted would be larger than any other seen in modern role-playing games history. Players will travel by horseback and even sail between different far-off locations in the game world.

As in previous iterations, the game will have non-linear gameplay and will feature a multi-threaded storyline, with complex choices for players to make, which will have important consequences in the game world.

Namco Bandai is a leading video game developer, publisher and distributor in the East, and will exclusively handle distribution and promotion efforts for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in Australia and New Zealand.

“We're really excited to continue to develop our relationship with NAMCO BANDAI Games and, as a result, introduce The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to even more gamers across the globe. Thanks to our shared passion for games and our partner's understanding of what core values constitute The Witcher series, I'm confident we can make the launch of The Witcher 3 something really special,” head of CD Projekt RED Adam Badowski said in the official press release.

The Withcher 3: Wild Hunt does not currently have an official release date, speculations placing an estimate around mid-2014 at the earliest. The game is currently being developed for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
