The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is already one of the most eagerly awaited titles to launch in early 2015 and the development team at CD Projekt RED reveals that gamers will be able to get even more value from the title with a new card game called Gwent.

At the same time players will be able to get more physical content if they pick up the Collector's Edition for the Xbox One home console from Microsoft.

The official announcement from the development team says that Gwent is a fact paced card game which is offered on all platform and has been designed by the dwarves in order to be played in taverns.

CD Projekt RED states, "Gwent is a game of initial simplicity and ultimate depth, something beloved by both road-weary travelers during long nights around the campfire and elegant nobles looking to liven up dragging dinner parties. The game is about the clash of two armies locked in mortal struggle on a battlefield where the players are the leaders and the cards their forces."

Four different factions are included in the card game and each of them has a different combat style and victory condition and the experience include all fantasy staples, from magic to heroes and complex combos and strategies.

Marcin Iwinski, a co-founder and joint CEO of the development team, states, "Gwent is an amazing game and we're really happy to be able to bring it to the physical realm with Microsoft's help. Now we’ve got Gwent in every copy of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt as an in-game experience for free on every platform, and a physical version in the Xbox One CE, how awesome is that?"

In The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Gwent will include 150 playing cards and gamers will be able to choose to control the powerful Nilfgaard Empire, the Northern Realms, the monsters of No Man's Land and the Scoia'tael.

For the Xbox One bound Collector's Edition the development team says that players will be able to get access to:

- a copy of the game, with the official soundtrack, a map, unique sticker and a complex compendium; - a figure of Geralt of Rivia battling a griffin; - a special medallion and a unique steelbook; - a cloth map of the game world and two Gwent decks; - two boxes to store merchandise in.

No other version of The Witcher 3 will include physical decks of cards for the Gwent experience.
