CD Projekt Red has talked more about its upcoming The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt role-playing game and has confirmed that the title will feature plenty of gore, possibly even dismemberments, and that many different monsters will be present in the title.

The Witcher 3 is the end of the current RPG trilogy, and CD Projekt Red wants to make sure that the series will conclude on a high note, so it's bringing it to the PC, as always, but also on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.

After learning quite a few things about the game, the studio has talked with GamingBolt about the experience and how it will include the trademark gore of the franchise, and possibly even dismemberments.

"There are certain times where the game is a bit gory. Currently we cannot cut off limbs; we might do it later on. But we don’t hold anything back to due to the ratings. This is a game for adults and for people who can handle violence, gore and intimate relationships. We are not changing our attitude," the studio says.

"The Witcher world is dark fantasy world and it is about delivering this experience and we are not going to change that. I can’t see us change that and we are not going to change it. This is what we are as a studio, this is what we do, we do mature role playing games and we are going to continue to do that."

What's more, there will be a varied set of monsters and animals in the new game, with over 80 species and variants, each with different characteristics that will make players think before fighting.

"Some monsters in the game are nocturnal and you can only hunt them in the night. Some monsters are not. This is where your boosting skills and abilities will come in the picture. There are monsters in the game where you won’t simply find running around in the wild. Our monsters in the game act differently and take in to consideration where it is and they behave accordingly."

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is out on PC, PS4, and Xbox One in 2014.
