Developer CD Projekt RED has released a brand new gameplay video from its upcoming role-playing game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, showing off the title's fantastic visuals.

Grass never looked greener, reeds never bent in the wind as vividly, birch trees never looked better, and if the game had beavers, they would probably be all over that bark in no time. Also, haunting music.

The game world is rendered in painstaking detail, with incredibly realistic sky boxes, gorgeous water splashes and reflections, and while it's too soon yet to gauge whether its story will be any good, or how rewarding combat will feel (although judging by the standards that the developer has set so far, they're bound to be pretty good), one thing is certain: the game looks absolutely stunning.

"We love the unique energy of Gamescom. Cologne is the perfect place to meet with gamers and Witcher fans, and this year we're gearing up for our best gamescom yet - we've got tons of swag for visitors, and, most importantly, a demo for everyone to see!" said Paweł Panasiuk, event manager at CD Projekt RED.

Attendees can experience The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's massive open-world first-hand on the show floor at Gamescom, as well as take part in various planned activities, earning a chance to win a ton of exclusive rewards.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is currently scheduled to come out on February 24, 2015, for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms.
