The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the new number one video game in the United Kingdom when copies sold are taken into account, managing to deliver more units to players during its first week than any other title that was offered in 2015.

The final adventure of Geralt has managed to sell more than 600 more copies than the previous title in the series, which was introduced in 2012, and at the moment about 63 percent of the units of the game are sold on the PlayStation 4.

At the moment, CD Projekt RED is working to deliver more patches and free content for The Witcher 3 on all platforms in order to improve the overall game experience and keep gamers engaged in the long term.

Data delivered by UKIE says that Farming Simulator 15, another new entry, is in second place for the week that ended on May 23, showing that even a niche title can generate a lot of sales as long as it is positioned well.

The final position on the podium belongs to Grand Theft Auto V, the title from Rockstar that has managed to keep its position even as others around it have not managed to maintain their places.

The best of the rest

FIFA 15 might be the oldest title in the United Kingdom top ten but it has managed to gain two places during the week in order to reach fourth coming from sixth, as gamers as eager to replicate the end of the season matches in the Premier League.

Project Cars, which had number one during the previous seven day period, is at the moment in fifth, followed by Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, which serves as a prequel to the events shown in The New Order.

Battlefield Hardline, the new shooter from Visceral Games and Electronic Arts, has also delivered a solid comeback in order to reach seventh place coming from tenth, as the two companies are getting ready to deliver the first DLC for it.

Mortal Kombat X has dropped from fourth to eight and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has also lost two positions.

The United Kingdom chart is closed down by Destiny, which failed to generate big sales even if the House of Wolves expansion arrived last week.
