After delaying The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt one more time, developer CD Projekt Red has brought forth the official minimum and recommended PC specifications that are required by the new role-playing experience to run properly on the platform.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt received a series of release dates ever since its announcement, but CD Projekt Red ultimately decided to delay the game multiple times in order to ensure that it has a high quality and it can delight fans of the series.

After one more delay, the game is now set to appear on May 19 across the PC, PS4, and Xbox One platforms.

Some steep requirements have just been shared for the PC version

In order to make the wait more bearable and give PC users something to do, the Polish studio has now shared on the official Facebook page a list of minimum and recommended PC requirements for The Witcher 3.

First up, in terms of minimum requirements, a PC must meet some pretty steep specifications, starting with a CPU equivalent to the Intel i5 2500K at 3.3GHz or the AMD Phenom II X4 940.

Graphics cards starting with the Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 and the AMD Radeon HD 7870 are supported, while at least 6GB of RAM is required by the game. Last but not least, a 64-bit operating system starting with Windows 7 is needed, as is 40GB of hard drive space.

In terms of the recommended settings, the required CPUs are Intel i7 3770 at 3.4GHz and the AMD FX-8350 at 4GHz. The GPUs needed are the Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 or the AMD Radeon R9 290. 8GB of RAM rounds off the specifications, while the same 64-bit operating system and the hard drive requirements apply.

It's unclear just what quality level can be achieved by the recommended requirements in The Witcher 3, but those looking for an upgrade might want to grab those components, or even better ones to ensure maximum performance and run the upcoming RPG in all its glory.

You can expect to hear some more info about The Witcher 3's performance on PC, as well as on the PS4 or Xbox One, in the future, as we get closer to its debut on May 19. Check out the full list of requirements below.
