The development team at CD Projekt RED announces that it is creating an entirely new visual identification for both the studio itself and its upcoming The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in order to better represent the core values of both.

The game development company has existed since 2002 in Warsaw and in Krakow and was created by Michał Kicinski and Marcin Iwinski.

The studio explains that its new logo, the REDbird, is designed to show the energy and the passion that the studio is known for.

Adam Badowski, the current head of the studio, states, "We are rebels and rebels are free. Just like birds. The Northern Cardinal, or REDbird, is what we see ourselves in the industry: intrepid, bold and confident; flying high and aiming even higher. The color, cardinal RED, is something that connects it with another bird, a mythological creature close to our cultural roots and heritage—the Rarog, a small firebird believed to bring luck to people."

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is also getting a new visual identity, which uses the mask of one of the most important characters, general Eredin.

The company explains in the official announcement that, "the Wild Hunt are not mere bosses at the end of a corridor. They’re part of the lore, part of the system of folk beliefs, they’re both something that children say stories about to scare each other and an entity that can wipe out entire villages in one night. The Wild Hunt is essential to the whole Witcher universe and in The Witcher 3 it will finally take center stage."

Eredin is one of the commanders of the Wild Hunt and a bigger mystery than the phenomenon itself, but everyone knows that they are very powerful fighters, armed with supernatural weapons and abilities.

Gamers will need to be careful when it comes to choosing their equipment and their allies before they try to take on this powerful force.

The Witcher 3 is an open world game that's driven by a core story that will address the most important episode in the life of main character Geralt.

CD Projekt RED also promises interesting side quests to explore, a complex world to travel through and impressive monsters to hunt for fame and trophies.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is at the moment set to be launched on the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4 and the PC in February 2015.
