The development team at CD Projekt RED working on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt announces that it is launching a major cosplay content associated with the world of the game, which is designed to allow fans to create their own costumes and equipment and then submit images for a chance to win some very interesting prizes.

All those interested need to pick their favorite element from the extensive lore of the series and then send over their cosplay results until October 30.

First prize for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt contest consists of 1,000 dollars (744 Euro), unique custom-made jewelry and a chance to travel to events around the world in costume in order to show off their work and promote the game, with all the expenses paid by CD Projekt.

Gamers on second and third places will also get replica jewelry and copies of the video game.

A full list of the requirements and the conditions associated with the cosplay competition are offered on the official site.

Marcin Momot, the community manager at the studio, states, “Without a doubt, The Witcher has always had the most talented community out there. Each month you guys send us tons of great fan art, musical tracks, fanfics and stuff so amazing that we sometimes decide to hang it on the walls here in the studio. The time has come to give you a chance to create something really amazing and get rewarded for your hard work.”

The jury of the cosplay competition is made up of known cosplayers, including Eve Beauregard, Nadya Sonika, LeeAnna VAMP and Shappi, as well as members of the development team.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be the final entry in the franchise that will use Geralt as the main character, and the company is planning to deliver a complex story that focuses on one of the most important events from the character’s past.

The title uses an open world structure for the first time, and the world is very big, allowing the gamer to encounter interesting locations to explore and a variety of monsters to take out.

The combat is also being revamped to make it more action driven and to emphasize the extraordinary skills that Geralt has access to.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is set to be launched on February 24, 2015, on the PC, the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony.
