CD Projekt Red, the Polish developer behind the upcoming The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt role-playing game, believes that the title is going to draw in players thanks to its huge open world and the great adventures of protagonist Geralt.

The Witcher games have delivered some truly impressive RPG experiences over the years, with CD Projekt Red taking the series of books written by Andrzej Sapkowski and transforming them into a rich universe filled with all sorts of stories besides the main one.

The Witcher 3, the next iteration in the series, promises to conclude the adventures of protagonist Geralt of Rivia, but CD Projekt Red has been quick to point out that it wants a change of pace and will start focusing on Cyberpunk 2077 once it finishes with the new title.

"That means there are no plans to continue Geralt’s story after we release The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," the studio's Miles Tost tells PSLS about the conclusion of the saga. "And I don’t want you to think that this is a dodging answer, we’re simply moving on to Cyberpunk 2077 when we finish Wild Hunt."

Tost also emphasizes that RPG fans will find lots of things to enjoy in The Witcher 3, ranging from the great story to the impressive adventures of Geralt, who goes on to explore the huge open world.

"Take a really good story (and I mean really good, book-grade story), add a whole bunch of smaller stories, and mix that in a truly vast open world. You’re a guy that slays really ferocious monsters, does it like a cold and calculated killing machine, and you can go anywhere and do anything," he explains.

"Players will get this sense of wonder and excitement when exploring the open world, that feeling many people love when they get to play an amazing open world game for the first time and that makes them remember the game fondly later on."

Those reasons, coupled with other ones relating to the revamped combat, the alchemy, or the crafting make Tost certain that The Witcher 3 is going to delight many players.

"We’re trying hard, to create that feeling for literally tens of hours of gameplay. For me, that’s a pretty good reason! And if that doesn’t convince you there’s also a much improved combat system, alchemy, crafting."

The Witcher 3 is set to debut in February of 2015 for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One platforms.
