The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is once again the best-selling video game in the United Kingdom, managing to hang on to its number one position in the software chart for yet another week as the development team at CD Projekt is working hard to improve the overall game experience.

A new major patch for the title is expected to arrive on all platforms, fixing a range of problems the community has reported, including the XP issues that have become prominent recently.

The development team is also introducing more content for free to The Witcher 3, adding one new mission for Geralt to undertake each week, while also offering a new cosmetic pack.

Second place for the week that ended on May 30 in the United Kingdom is occupied by Splatoon from Nintendo, a new entry that has managed to perform surprisingly well during its debut week and profited from the relative lack of new titles for the Wii U.

According to UKIE, the final position on the podium is occupied by Grand Theft Auto V, the open world experience from Rockstar that's at the moment offered on all major platforms.

Rockstar has recently revealed that it plans to deliver a new big update for the Online mode next week.

The best of the rest

FIFA 15 continues to stay glued to fourth place, despite the fact that most of the big championships in Europe are now done and the focus of the development team EA Sports is now on the next title in the series.

Framing Simulator 15, from Focus Home Interactive, has dropped a lot of places during its second week on sales and has reached fifth place coming from second.

Battlefield Hardline, the first-person shooter from Visceral Games and Electronic Arts, is in sixth place, gaining one position as the first big DLC, called Criminal Activity, is set to arrive.

Project Cars has also lost some ground and is now in seventh place, just ahead of Destiny, the Bungie and Activision experience that has managed to move from tenth to eighth.

Mortal Kombat X, the fighting game from NetherRealms Studios and Warner Bros., has managed to drop down one place, and the United Kingdom top ten is closed down by the Xbox version of indie hit Minecraft.
