The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt developer CD Projekt Red has talked a bit about the upcoming game's technical performance and revealed that it's targeting a 30 fps framerate on PS4 and Xbox One, while on the PC it will take advantage of the PhysX tech from Nvidia.

The Witcher 3 is set to debut next year and, as always, developer CD Projekt Red promises to push each platform, namely the PC, PS4, and Xbox One to its limit.

According to Head Programmer Balazs Torok, who talked with Italy's PC-Gaming, via WorldsFactory, the studio is aiming a 30 fps framerate on PS4 and Xbox One, as it wants to deliver a visually stunning experience, instead of limiting it to reach a 60 fps benchmark.

"As always, we aim for the highest graphics quality, and this naturally imposes limitations. We haven’t reached the point in time when we’ll be able to divulge details regarding resolutions, but in terms of framerate we’re targeting 30 FPS," he said.

In terms of the PC, the studio wants realistic destruction mechanics, which means that it might use Nvidia's PhysX technology to achieve the best result.

"We’re working to make destructibility an important part of the game. We don’t want to add something just for the sake of technology, therefore we’re analyzing the many situations in which players will be able to interact with objects in the game world," he added.

"Currently, we’re using a system for destructibility and cloth simulation which is based on Nvidia PhysX, more specifically using Apex. We’re doing everything we can to optimize in our own, although we are always in touch with Nvidia to eventually reach the best possible performance."

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is set to debut sometime next year, but no exact date has been given by CD Projekt Red.
