CD Projekt Red, the developer of the recent The Witcher 2 role playing game, has confirmed that its publishing partner for the upcoming version of the game on the Xbox 360 for North America is Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

The Witcher 2 has been delighting players all around the world on the PC platform since last spring, and the Polish team at CD Projekt Red now wants to entertain Xbox 360 owners with a special version of the game designed for the console.

We've been hearing quite a lot about this edition, especially after the PC version got the massive update 2.0, and the studio has now confirmed that the title will be published by Warner Bros. in North America.

“We are sure that this partnership with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, with its strong position in the entertainment sector and particularly in the video and games distribution market in North America, will help us to achieve even bigger success in the most important market for Xbox 360 games. This is also a big distinction for us, that Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment recognizes ‘The Witcher 2’ as a rare example of a game with world-class production values, which merges a very ambitious and complex approach with big commercial potential,” said Adam Kiciński, president of CD Projekt Red.

Quite a few companies have published The Witcher 2 up until now, with CD Projekt itself releasing it in its native Poland, Namco Bandai in Europe, Atari in North America, and 1C Company in Russia. The Xbox 360 version of the RPG is currently scheduled to be launched with the help of THQ in Europe, and now with Warner Bros. in America.

“We are very pleased to partner with CD Projekt RED to bring ‘The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings’ to consoles in the United States, Canada and Mexico,” said Kevin Kebodeaux, Senior Vice President, Sales Americas, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “Witcher is a AAA franchise that fits well with our strategic distribution of high quality games, making it a great addition to our 2012 line-up in North America.”

The Witcher 2 on the Xbox 360 is currently scheduled to appear in the first quarter of 2012.
