CD Projekt Red is quite confident in the Xbox 360 version of its upcoming The Witcher 2 title, revealing that it’s probably one of the best looking games that appeared on the Microsoft console up until now.

The Witcher 2 was originally released last year on the PC, amazing plenty of players with its great role playing mechanics, not to mention stunning visuals that relied heavily on post processing effects to turn the game’s world into a true fantasy one.

Now, the studio is working hard on the game’s Enhanced Edition, which is going to be re-released on the PC and make its debut on the Xbox 360 this April.

In order to truly highlight the fact that the game’s console version is more of an adaptation instead of a simple port, CD Projekt Red’s Manager Adam Badowski talked with Gaming Nexus about the work his studio is currently doing.

“We’ve rewritten the game code so it feels native to the console. We’ve rebuilt large parts of the game so we can achieve the same fidelity of gameplay that we have in the PC version. You’ll be amazed by how much we squeezed out of the Xbox 360. We dare say The Witcher 2 is one of the best looking games ever to be released on this platform. On seeing the X360 version for the first time, many people were amazed that it looks almost as good as it does on the PC,” Badowski said.

Improvements were also made to the game’s controller support, which was present on the PC version, but has been refined for the Xbox 360 one.

“We re-adapted the controls for the Xbox gamepad, that is to say, the PC version supported gamepad controls, but now they’re close to being perfect. Also, the spectacular combat in The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition really flows on the Xbox 360. You feel like a real sword master as you slash through ranks of foes and roll through pools of monster blood.”

The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition will include, both on the PC and Xbox 360, plenty of extra things and content, like new quests and more characters that flesh out the game’s story.

The role playing title will be out on April 17, for the two aforementioned platforms.
