CD Projekt Red, the developer of the upcoming The Witcher 2 role-playing game, has shared its thoughts and desires for the next generation of videogame consoles, saying that it hopes to implement real-life animations and much more impressive graphics in games for the new devices.

While Sony and Microsoft have yet to comment on their next generation consoles, like the PlayStation 4 or Xbox 720, lots of reports and rumors have begun circulating on the web.

What’s more, plenty of developers are also sharing their expectations about the new consoles.

After DICE revealed its hopes for these upcoming devices, CD Projekt Red’s Lead Level Artist, Marek Ziemak, has also shared his expectations from the likes of the PlayStation 4 or Xbox 720.

"Sure, I'm a level artist so for me, it's all about the visual quality," he told CVG. "I want more creative freedom and more great graphics, that's what really makes me want to create games."

"I'm looking for like real-life animations. It's like pushing the limit again and again, creating bigger and greater stuff," he added. "I don't know when it's going to happen, but I want to see this, these great graphics being there on the screen.”

Ultimately, Ziemak hopes that next generation devices will render the pursuit of realistic graphics obsolete and developers will be free to actually work on improving the story and the gameplay in order to have a real impact on the player, not just a visual one.

"I hope its time comes soon and we won't have to fight about pixels on the screen but worry more about delivering a true experience, the real emotion we can deliver through the game," he concluded.

CD Projekt Red has already unveiled that some of the projects it currently has in development will arrive for next generation platforms, even if neither Microsoft nor Sony has revealed their devices.
