The best from the best product and service providers

Qualcomm has presented the winners of this year's edition of BREW Developer Awards. This is a program that recognizes the best efforts and results when it comes to mobile applications and services.

A large number of publishers and developers have taken part in this year's edition of the BREW Awards. The competition featured eight awards, ranging from commercial and pre-commercial BREW applications and services.

Among the categories, the People's Choice one allowed all those interested to vote for the developer they consider most worthy from a list of finalists. The winner for this category has been designated Celltop by Alltel Wireless, a technology which allows users to bring on their handsets a wide number of entertainment products and information.

The Best Public Service Application Award has been received by Wireless Emergency Command System (Kingeye) from Xi'an Kingtone Information Technology. This title appreciates the economic and social development through the use of 3G wireless technology.

Best Up and Coming Application: EZ Josyuseki Navi by KDDI Corporation and NAVITIME Japan Co. Ltd. (Japan)

Best Public Service Application: Wireless Emergency Command System (Kingeye) by Xi'an Kingtone Information Technology Co. Ltd. (China)

Best Business or Productivity Application: Celltop by Alltel Wireless (U.S.)

Best Location-Based Service Application: BiM Active by Bones in Motion (U.S.)

Best Community Application: JuiceCaster by Juice Wireless (U.S.)

Best Entertainment Application: NBA AirPlay Live by AirPlay Network (U.S.)

Best Game Application: Brothers in Arms 3D by Gameloft (France)

People's Choice Award: Celltop by Alltel Wireless (U.S.)

The finalists and winners from this year's edition of BREW Developer Awards have been judged by international industry experts. This committee has taken into consideration a series of factors, from originality, efficiency to the "wow factor" that these services and products have reached. The jury tried to determine which companies have managed to provide the most evolved personalized wireless data capabilities.
