We’re hearing that Microsoft is planning to bring this feature in Windows 7 too

Microsoft is expected to implement a new feature in Windows 8.1 Update 1’s Internet Explorer called Enterprise Mode that would allow company employees to benefit from enhanced compatibility with websites whitelisted by their employers.

While the feature is already available in Windows 8.1 Update 1, the version that’s scheduled to be launched in April, it seems that it’s currently locked, but Microsoft is very likely to make it available to all users before the update hits the market.

And still, we’re hearing that this particular feature is also projected to be launched on Windows 7 computers sometime this year, as Internet Explorer 11 is already available as an optional download for users of this OS version.

“Enterprise Mode helps improve the compatibility of websites identified by your company,” Microsoft says in a brief description of the feature.
