The Weather Channel Interactive has released an updated version of its weather app for iPad users. What's new in version 3.6.0, you ask? The Future Radar, that’s what.

Although not completely new, the Future Radar feature has been absent from The Weather Channel as of late, and the developers decided to bring it back so you can turn on forecasted radar for the next 6 hours in the Map Layers menu.

On the Weather screens, you’ll now find some cool Rain/Snow indicators. The development team promises to “tell you when the rain or snow will start or stop during the next 6 hours.”

The backgrounds have been updated with the company’s own collection of black & white photography, and the usual bag of fixes is also included in this update.

The Weather Channel app works with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad, and requires iOS 5.0 or later.
