The Way of Life, an adventure game developed in just 24 hours, has made its way on Steam for Linux. It's not ready yet and is still under development, but the first three levels have been provided for free.

The Way of Life is proof that you don't need a lot of time to make a good or interesting game. This particular one was made in just 24 hours, during the Global Game Jam 2014. For that competition, you just need a good idea and the coding knowledge to implement it. The game proved that it could be so much more, but it needed more attention and that is the reason why you're now seeing it on Steam Early Access.

Titles in this category are still under development, but they can be bought nevertheless. Players know what they are getting themselves into, most of the times, and they are a good tool to help the developers improve upon the title.

This particular game is made by Fabio Ferrara, Davide Caio, Nicolò Azzolini, Luigi Di Guida, and Mathieu Renaudat. They said that The Way of Life should remain in development for the next few months, but that's never a certainty.

The gameplay for this adventure is unique

"This exploration game has 3 main characters: a business man, an old man and a child. They find themselves on a road which is apparently the same, but changes upon their perception of reality. The core of the gameplay is to explore in order to see how different is each point of view," reads the Steam synopsis.

Basically, players need to interact with the environment and other various elements and failing to do it properly will result in a reset of the story. For now, only three levels are available, but more should become available soon.

The system requirements for it are pretty low and most gamers will be able to meet them. You will need at least Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, a Quad-Core processor, 2MB or RAM, and 180 MB of HDD space. For now, the game is free, but that will change in the future.
