"It's not over until we're all dead," says Rick

It’s time to move past the previews and take a look at the first official trailer for the fifth season of “The Walking Dead,” one of the biggest TV shows AMC has on the air right now. It’s just 30 seconds long, but those few seconds are packed with intense drama and suspense.

It’s pretty much what you’d expect from a “Walking Dead” trailer: lots of zombies, some explosions, and the eternal question of who else will die in this season.

The main character, former Sheriff Rick Grimes, can be heard saying prophetically, “It’s not over till we’re all dead,” while Sasha adds to the tone of suspense, “Three of us are gone.” This is left to interpretation, as "gone" could either mean dead or just lost.

The newly released clip doesn’t have footage included in previous teasers released starting July, so it’s worth the watch for the new material alone. Just don’t expect any plot giveaways. You’ll have to keep a sharp eye out and draw your own conclusions on what little you are fed in the clip.

“The Walking Dead” is set to return to TV screens on Sunday, October 12, on AMC. Bring your shotguns and make sure that they’re loaded.
