14 DAY TRIAL // Telltale Games, the studio behind the very successful The Walking Dead video game, has talked about the actual bugs encountered in the game and how it's making sure that such issues won't repeat themselves with the inevitable Season 2.
The Walking Dead game made by Telltale not only showed that existing properties like comic books can make great games, but also demonstrated that episodic content can work across many platforms.
Sadly, the fact that new iterations were released every few months for all sorts of devices meant quite a lot of problems for players, who encountered bugs and issues with save files not being detected.
Telltale has talked with RPS about these problems and shed a bit of light into what it did to solve them all.
"We've pretty aggressively patched every platform to try to get as many save file issues fixed as we can. I think what's up there right now is completely patched, so that you shouldn't get any save file issues with what's live now. We've taken all the feedback that people have given us," Telltale boss Dan Connors said.
"Honestly, we're just working on solving the problems and getting the updates up as quickly as we can. We're telling people what we're doing, which is we're trying to understand the problem. We're trying to figure out where it's coming from. We're putting patches out to address it. We'll let you know as soon as we have the patch. I think "We'll let you know as soon as it's patched" doesn't help the person who just lost their saved game."
In regards to the all-but-confirmed Season 2 of The Walking Dead game, Connors is confident that Telltale will do a better job with testing the experience and making sure that less issues will be encountered by players.
"I think in season two, we're going to be a lot more diligent about making sure that part of the system can handle everything that's going to happen. Now we know how people are going to do this and how they're going to use this and how it's going to appear to people. I think we'll have some good systems in place to make sure that it's great in the next season."
As of yet, Telltale hasn’t confirmed anything about The Walking Dead game season 2, but you can expect more details soon enough.
